In this part, we would look at creating user, configuring network and joining computers to domain.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"#t1\">Create an Admin User<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#t2\">Setup Windows 10 Virtual Machine<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#t3\">Configure Network Connections<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#t4\">Join Computer to Domain<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#t5\">View Active Directory Computers<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong id=\"t1\">1. Create an Admin User<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We would now create an admin user account. This account is what we would use to join computers to this domain. Again, follow the steps:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; Click on Tools at the upper right and choose &#8216;Active Directory Users and Computers&#8217;. Choose a password and complete the process<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong> &#8211; Right-click on the user you just created and choose properties.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong> &#8211; Click on &#8216;Member Of&#8217; tab. Click on Add. Enter Domain admin. Click on Check Names. It underlines it. Then click on OK.<\/p>\n<p>Now, this user is a domain admin<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong id=\"t2\">2. Setup Windows 10 Virtual Machine<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Now, we would set up Window 10\u00a0 so we can join it to the domain. If you have not downloaded it, then download it from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/evalcenter\/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; Follow the same procedure as in Part 1 to setup the Windows 10 Virtual Machine<\/p>\n<p>Remember to choose custom install<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong id=\"t3\">3. Configure the Network Connections<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>This part is really very important. This is because if you don&#8217;t get it right, then you would not be able to join the machine to the domain. Follow the steps<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; Open\u00a0 the Virtual Machine setting for the Windows 10. Click on Network and Select &#8220;Bridged Adapter&#8221; under Attached to. Join Computer to Domain<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>At this point, we are ready to join the computer to the domain,<em> KTG.local<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; First change the name of the computer to &#8216;Windows10Client&#8217; or any other name. To do this, use the &#8216;<em>This Computer&#8217;<\/em> properties. This would prompt a restart<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong> &#8211; Again, open the &#8216;This Computer&#8217; properties. Click on Change.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong> &#8211; Under Domain, enter the name of the domain: <em>KTG.local.<\/em> Click OK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 4<\/strong> &#8211; Enter the username and password of the admin user we created in the server. You remember? Yeah! The username is &#8216;<em>kindson<\/em>&#8216;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 5<\/strong> &#8211; Click OK. You will be prompted to restart. View Active Directory Computers<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Now, we would go to the server and check that the computer we joined, shows up in the domain controller<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; Log into the domain controller<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2<\/strong> &#8211; Click on Tools at the upper right corner and select Active Directory Users and Computers<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3<\/strong> &#8211; Expand the domain KTG.local.
